Q Project, Spinback, Digital & Spirit….
Amassing nearly 100 years of combined experience in the DNB scene, the four of them have done almost everything there is to do. Between them you can tick off virtually every major label from past to present – Metalheadz, Shogun Audio, Hospital, Exit, Dispatch, V Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Timeless, Reinforced, as well as their own imprints CIA, Phantom Audio, Function and Inneractive with a huge catalogue that spans dance floor anthems and underground classics alike.
After all these years, having had such a close friendship and association, the one thing they were yet to do was actually make it into the studio together! It was time for that to be rectified. The first results emerged on the CIA 20 Album, and now they present the rest of the story so far. Four tracks, two concurrent releases and an uncompromising selection of music that throws all their styles into one red hot melting pot.
Volume 1 opens with the impossibly infectious dubbed-out bassline of ‘Rumble’ soaked in ethereal keys and cavernous fx for a superlative hypnotic groove that crosses all boundaries. ‘Overlord’ takes rolling breakbeat funk into overdrive, building towards a crescendo of swirling riffs and tripped-out echoes.
