Firstly introducing Mako and DLR who are already starting work on their forthcoming combined Metalheadz album project, alongside we have the fledgling talents of Villem and the elder statesmen of the scene Ant TC1 who in his own right has had a hand in a fair share of memorable releases and himself heads up Dispatch Recordings and Metalheadz.
This project that shows a great depth in the talents of the foursome, it’s a beauty and the beast affair, fantastically executed in the great tradition of Metalheadz.
Kicking off with ‘Hungry For Atmosphere’ this stepper is a perfect set opener, heartfelt strings and keys give way to contorted mids and FXs, whilst the familiar vocal is processed into something altogether more sinister. The track clocks at just over 7 minutes and this says everything of the tracks ambitions, not pandering to anything but its own journey.
Next to step into the ring is ‘A Certain Flavour’ the opposite but yet perfectly paired track to go with the A side. Beginning with a very cinematic introduction it unravels into a growling bass led stepper with staccato drums before switching into a two-step drum work out, tailor made for dancefloors and DJs alike. Recommended!
